DC30 Tracks Onto PC

Post by Ker_man »

:?: I just tried loading my Dc 30 tracks onto the computer and am not sure if I'm doing it right. Anywhere that the astro220 lost the signal with the collar is just showing a straight line. I had hoped that the DC30 would show the whole run. Any help is apriciated, Terry

Make sure you are uploading the collar. One way to tell if you uploaded collar instead of your Astro is if the track says "Rover Track Log" Rover being your dogs name on the Astro. If you just uploaded the Astro it will just have the dogs name. Go to the dog screen, hit enter on the dog you want to upload, press menu, select upload collar, Astro should say ready to communicate, then on the PC press transfer and upload the collar.

Hope that helps.

I think he's asking about the tracks of the Dog while he was out of Signal.

I think you'll first need to Download the Tracks from the collar to the 220 to see the full race and all the points that the dog collar stored while not in range of the 220.

I don't remember exactly but I think you go to the Dog Info page, then menu, and it's Transfer Dog Unit Track?. which I think will download all the track info off the collar to the 220.

Then once you do that you can Download it from you 220 back into the computer using the mapsource or Base maps program on the computer.

The Tracks are stored into the DC30 even when the unit is not talking to the 220.

Hopefully this helps, I' have a 220 here so I can see the menu options, but I can't tell if it would downloading the missing Tracks right since I don't have any tracks to download right now.

Thanks Tman and Buddy, this should help, when I get a chance I'll try again and yes I was concerned that it had not regestered when out of contact with the 220. Terry

If you are getting straight lines then you aren't downloading the collar tracks.

First turn on your collar and Astro for a couple of minutes.

With your Astro on and plugged into the computer go to the dog screen.
Highlight the dog whose track you want to download and press enter
Now press menu once
Highlight "Transfer Dog Unit Track" and press enter
At this point the Astro needs to be touching the DC collar
The Astro will say connecting
It will then say downloading track
ASTRO will say ready to communicate DO NOT PRESS ANY BUTTONS ON THE ATRO
Using your computer program of choice select transfer and select receive from GPS.
This should work for ya, keep in mind that if you haven't ever deleted the log it will be a long list of dog tracks. They will be downloaded into Mapsource under the dogs name and folllowed by track log.

Hope that gets ya what you need.
