Gas field workers question
Gas field workers question
Gotta be a few hound guys in the SE Utah area that work the local gas fields, My question is are abandoned gas pads safe to camp around / or on? By abandoned I mean no equipment what so ever no vent pipes, does have 2 what I assume to be anchor rods sunk into the pad area. no signs that I noticed. I did see what I believe to be a pipeline scar about 100yds away, The reason I ask is I was there last winter and spied a canyon that I just know I could get myself and the dogs into plenty of trouble, It keeps calling me but I dont want to blow up just yet. I was hoping to camp there but if its a dangerous situation I would like to know Thanks Ken

Re: Gas field workers question
I wouldn't worry about camping there.
Don't buy the hype.

Thanks for the reply Bearkiller, I ran into a gas well worker while roading my culls and he knew the pad I was refering to and said it was safe as it was a non producer and had been shut down, Ken

No sweat good flat place to camp. But if you are in Aneth, Montezuma Creek area remember you are on reservation.
