From Nor Cal

Postby HotWheeler » Tue Jul 05, 2011 4:16 am

I have always been intrested in bear hunting since I was little and went hunting with my Uncle. A few years ago I found a hunter that was willing to teach me a few things. I now have a Trigg/Walker female and love the thrill of the hunt. My dog just had a litter that I'm getting ready to train the little pups on bear. It sucks that they are trying to get rid of bear hunting in California, so my wife and I are trying to support the Conservation for Houndsmen as much as possable.

Im not sure about your setup but let them run around your yard if you can. I think it sure helps them pups out to not have them in a kennel. It will help keep them from barking nonstop. But at the same time now is when you need to work on teaching them NO and that barking will not be allowed. The water works very well just dont use it after winter gets here or you can have some sick pups.
