Bobcat and lion advice

Just looking for any good advice on where to look for bobcat or lions in the summer months. Do they stay in a pretty small area, can a guy find them in the same hole frequent, are they higher up the mountain, cold dark canyons or what? Iam just used to huntin winter grounds and snow so I dont really know where to start when it comes to dry ground.

i have noticed bobcat's use the same crossings quite a bit. but i am new and trying to learn my self. i get strikes in the same almost exact spot as i find tracks in the snow. jmo i could be totally wrong thou.

Ya I have caught one lion in a common winter spot, but I have caught 2 in spots that you normally wouldnt find them in the winter. I reallize as the game moves back the cats are going to follow. How about time of day when do you seem to get your strikes? I dont know what the bobcats do and I didnt know if the lions move up high with the mule deer. Do alot of you cat guys walk drainages to start cats?

Find out what the cats prefered feed is at the time.

Find a concentration of prefered feed.

There should be cats there.

Cats are driven by their stomach.

Understanding how and where cats hunt and feed will give you a much better chance of getting your dogs on one.

I know I make it sound easy, but it took me quite awile to fully realise and understand this.

This might not help but food is the main factor as stated. However some areas the cats do move with game while others they do not they will switch prey species and that can confuse you. Bobcats are a niche predator for the larger part as in if there's a untapped prey niche there will soon be a cat using it. I ve seen a female methodically wipe out quail covies before moving to the next while feeding kittens almost the same when one gets into poultry. Lion here find game and stick because most movement is minor so if you can find scat and identify its contents or feeding/kill sites you may have a edge but don't beat yourself with it because some cats will feed on anything they can while some lions will nearly starve before switching prey. Maybe some real experienced guys will enlighten us more on this subject ??

Oh no! Don't tell me I was encouraging illegal pursuit? Well I guess push the button or chuck a rock I probably needed it anyway. my doggy bootcamp period is coming around I forget how very short some states seasons are like bear here in az but that is up to the shooters mostly. Did you see the cinch dog twist?

Oh ok I didnt know he knew of your dog. Yes i have seen him nice leggy and very athletic with alot of good drive, seen him in action a couple times and did very well. Andy
