URGENT: TN to outlaw hog hunting with dogs.

From what I can tell, it looks like TWRA is going to cut out all hog hunting with dogs in the state on all WMAs. This literally cuts our dog hunting opportunities in half here in East TN. They are allowing for the taking of hogs on other hunts, but not with dogs. They are also giving many more opportunity for people to take bears on deer and archery hunts. Under their new proposal, still hunters will have 32 days to kill a bear, and dog hunter will only have 22. On their website all the information is contained in a proposal. They are asking for comments and concerns. I strongly suggest that if you care about houndsmen's rights, you go to this link and say your piece. They are trying to control the hog population, but they are removing the most effective method to do so (dogs). It is pretty obvious from reading the entire proposal that deer and smallgame hunters are more than taken care of and we are being sacrificed.

In TN if your not a deer or turkey hunter you aint crap they got traps all over catoosa now killing them and throwing them over a bank to rot the idiots think their going to get population under control like this since it has worked so good down south lol and their paying people to do this with the money we spend on liscense to hunt them

since hound hunters dont have any pull we should all get together and mean everone of us and say to hell with TN and not buy our liscens next year and hopefully bank rupt the TWRA we can still hunt NC and GA and where ever else

that would actually work IF EVERY dog hunter in the state did it. if they & the TN dog orgs refused to hold any activities in the state it would be a noticeable amount of money.

Outlaw3, Ive been looking and haven't found any solid info,,, Is the hog season gonna be cut out on the south cherokee WMA?

This is one of the stupidest moves the TWRA has ever done in my opinion.....in 5 years they'll be begging us to hog hunt.

Looks like the South Cherokee hunts will still be.

I found this that comes effective Aug 1st 2011. . Go down to about page 12 for the South Cherokee WMA seasons.
