So if most people favor the 30 over the 40 why did garmin discontinue the 30? In my opinion that was a stupid decision, but who would want to listen to a 16 year old kids opinion anyways :D

they know if they keep selling 30's they will never get rid of their inventory of fourties. that's why I hate garmin. they take one step forward and two steps back. instead of listening to what we the hounders really want. they have the technology to build one that has shock, telemetry, and gps. or even one that is true gps instead of line of sight. they are gona make us buy a new set of collars every year when they come out. it kinda backfired on them with the 40's. hee hee! I hope somebody else comes out with somthing better than garmin. I will sell all my garmin stuff and switch imediately!
"Houndn'Ems Blueticks" if it smells like a cat, they'll catch it.

That is very true. The thing is I'm fairly new to hunting with hounds and I don't even get my first pup for another 2 weeks. So I'm on the search for a tracking system. The 30's would be great, but its next to impossible to find an additional collar, which I will need because I'm getting 2 dogs.
