Remember, not only did you contribute to Social Security but your employer did too. It totaled 15% of your income before taxes. If you averaged only 30K over your working life, that’s close to $220,500. If you calculate the future value of $4,500 per year (yours & your employer’s contribution) at a simple 5% (less than what the govt. pays on the money that it borrows), after 49 years of working (me) you'd have $892,919.98. If you took out only 3% per year, you receive $26,787.60 per year and it would last better than 30 years, and that’s with no interest paid on that final amount on deposit! If you bought an annuity and it paid 4% per year, you'd have a lifetime income of $2,976.40 per month. The folks in Washington have pulled off a bigger Ponzi scheme than Bernie Madoff ever had.



Entitlement, where did they come up with that? I paid cash for my social security insurance!!!! Just because they borrowed the money, doesn't make my benefits some kind of charity or handout!! We're "broke" & can't help our own Seniors, Veterans, Orphans, Homeless etc.,???????????

In the last months we have provided aid to Haiti , Chile , and Turkey . And now Pakistan home of bin Laden. Literally, BILLIONS of DOLLARS!!!

Our retired seniors living on a 'fixed income' receive no aid nor do they get any breaks while our government and religious organizations pour Hundreds of Billions of $$$$$$'s and Tons of Food to Foreign Countries!

They call Social Security and Medicare an entitlement even though most of us have been paying for it all our working lives and now when it's time for us to collect, the government is running out of money. Why did the government borrow from it in the first place?

We have hundreds of adoptable children who are shoved aside to make room for the adoption of foreign orphans.

AMERICA: a country where we have homeless without shelter, children going to bed hungry, elderly going without 'needed' meds, and mentally ill without treatment -etc,etc.

YET......................
They have a 'Benefit' for the people of Haiti on 12 TV stations, ships and planes lining up with food, water, tents clothes, bedding, doctors and medical supplies.

Imagine if the *GOVERNMENT* gave 'US' the same support they give to other countries.

Govt should be a working business. One that provides safety security health protection "not care, it's different" foreign policy and diplomacy, laws and enforcement. Then there's the services that people need in order to continue thriving. These are all things govt should provide. Not necessarily the fed govt. Most can and should be jurisdiction of the local offices. Why? Because we ask for it and pay for it. I call it purchases or investments at the very least. What to do about it be concerned and vocal because it sure works for special interest groups. We do need alternative candidates though. It has become a business in the wrong since fleecing americans. Both sides have a scheme we shouldn't settle for the lesser of two evils or the greatest such as obama has proven to be.

It really makes me mad that the news media does everything in the world to vilify the Tea Party candidates as being on the fringe of society. Just common folks like you and me trying to make a living. As long as we keep putting up with this 2 party system that has been backed by the same money for years we will continue to go down hill. Who controls the media, controls the agenda and there are just not enough people paying attention and they vote and breed and have been conditioned to think that a college educations entitles them to high salarys. One world order is the agenda and they are using both partys to get to the goal while dumbing down the generations. I read an article the other day that more people in England think that Robin Hood was real and that Winston Churchill was a myth. I talked to a very intelligent talking college graduate not long ago that did not know who the first president of the U.S. was. These are the people that are voting!!!! Scary as hell. People should have to pass a civics test and a history and economics test before thay are allowed to vote and affect my life!
What to do about it will take another generation and it will require parents to make sure what our school curriculam is, and children should be taught dicipline and respect for others. This country has lost alot of its moral fibre by letting God be taken out of school. I read another article that 788 million of our tax dollares are being spent to refurbish mosques in Egypt and we are talking about cutting benefits that we have paid for. Bullshit, These people need to be tried for treason. Bernie Madoff was a saint compared to these incompetant buffoons!
Well, I guess i ranted enough, gotta make some money to be redistributed to whoever needs it.

It will be up to you and my kids generation to instill the values and knowledge and hold people accountable for their actions. The scary thing is that those people in positions of authority are brain washed by those in power and believe that grass roots organizations like the tea party are a national threat. The truth is they only threaten those who are steering our country over a cliff. I like most of you have some strong opinions on these topics. Maybe a simple reform of new political parties that are closed to any individual that has been a ranking member of either of the current parties would give us a chance to select and vote for our rep.s the way its supposed to be. I may get beat up for this, but here it is. This isn't BO's fault although he does stink as a president. It's not the lack of GOD in schools. It's the parents job to teach morals, not GOD's or the schools job.

It isn't the senates fault or the house it is the people's fault. For the past 80+ years people have been lied to and the majority of them never sat down and analyzed what they were being told.

It is understandable though, it is human nature to let someone else provide for you whether it is food, health, safety etc. Not that government shouldn't have some oversite or say, but not the federal government as it is much easier to (beep) the people when you are a thousands of miles away from them. Nearly all the government provides MUST be done at the state level. That way, if it needs to be done, the state official can get booted out much easier than a federal official.

People need to stop following party lines and start listening to people like Ron and Rand Paul, Ludwig Van Mises, The Cato Institute, Friedrich Hayek and not these so called Tea Party, Republican, Democrat, Green Party or Blue Dog candidates as they are just shills for the statist and want nothing more than more spending, more debt, more war and more POWER.

Eliminate Federal regulations, taxes, etc and transfer the power as it was originally intended and Constitutionally authorized to the states.
