dog days of summer

Post by come-hunt »

What or how do your dogs act, during the time period of, mid July to September?
My daughter just called me and said her dog was acting strange ,wouldn't eat and just moped around and acted really sluggish. My dogs are doing the same and eat probably half their normal ration. I've noticed this in the past and also know that, (the dog days of summer are from mid July to around September 1st) in the U.S.A. I feel it does have a bearing on their activity. Does this have any effect with anyone else's hounds?
How about some feed back or response to this?
Thanks Don
I can make 'em go and I can make 'em Whoa !
God makes 'em do.
I'll take Jesus, you can have the field

seeing that you are in texas and it has been 100+ degrees for a long time, i cant imagine they would feel good! my dogs laid around and panted like they were suffering when i lived in the south but after i moved to a cooler climate they love summer and hate winter when it is -30. I feed way more food in the winter, they burn it off trying to stay warm and feed much less in the summer.
