Stetson,
I live in Cortez when you get a bobcat, call me and I will show you how to skin and stretch it. There are some tricks that make the difference between getting $300 and $400. 970-903-2264 Randy

There is a lot to it and more then I want to type up on here thats for sure. Your best bet is to find someone that has done it and learn from them. Cat are fur out, most guys start it fur in then after 12-24 hrs flip it to fur out. No salt, salt is not needed at all. If your wanting to mount the cat you need to skin out the paws but if your going to sell the fur then cut off paws. You might want to check out the Trapperman site it has a board like this one but 99% of it is about trapping.

Check this site out, it's Western site. Plenty of Cat trappers there.

The ones you skined to mount did you case skin or split it down the front or back? When you want to put them up and sell them you case skin. As for paws you can take front legs off right at the knees, the back legs take off at the last joint before the paw. After that they need to be fleshed, then I Borax the flesh side really really well, make sure to get the ears good then you can put on board fur out. Many guys will put on board flesh out for 12-24 hrs and then flip but if it gets to dry you will rip the pelt. I skip the flip on all my fur out pelts by using lots of Borax. U will want to pin the ears forward and the front legs up/forward. I like to use cut off plastic coat hangers to keep the fron legs open till almost all the way dry. I also hang all my fur out pelts head down when they dry to help make the fur stand up. Here where I live after about 5-7 days I can take them off the board, then blow down with dry air to remove all borax and brush then ready to sell.
