Can I track dc30 and a dc 40 with out sending the dc30
ollars in for a change?

Yes, you can track all of the collars that Garmin has ever made. However you have been misled in the fact that you "send them in" to upgrade them. All you need to do is go to the Garmin website and the updates are provided for you online and you do it yourself. There are several topics on here explaining how to do it. There have recently been several upgrades to the software for both the collars and the Astro itself. I'd recommend upgrading the software on everything.
