that would make sense, but I don't have a problem when I go to the areas where there is a dense bear population and easy running. I know it sounds stupid as hell, but after you run here you will see what I mean. It's kinda like if you were trying to make lion dogs in central utah vs arizona or somewhere that has less lion and less roads, less access etc. it's not that the lions smell different, but you will catch more where the numbers and conditions are in your favor. ya dig???? from where I live the only semi close place to run bear is cedar mt. still and hour and a half just to get up there, but better than 3 hour drive to the boulder where the conditions are more favorable. or san juan, lasals etc at 6 or 7 hours. I'de love to hunt those areas and would probably have made a sweet pack of beardogs by now if I was there. lack of money and three kids I need to be here with makes cedar my only real choice most of the time. anyway, these dudes can talk all of the smack they want, but you don't see any of them loading up and headin down. from the beginning this has not been about weither a guy can catch a bear down here or not cuz there are some fellars with some good packs that do it all the time. my point was a good pack raised in favorable conditions with dense bear populations are gona look pathetic down here. I M O! especially a jack russel pit plott
