hot weather dog box??? steel tubing??

Post by Mainehoundman »

anybody got a picture or plans for a 6-8+ hound hot weather dog box? was thinking about maybe some 1"x1" steel tubing all the way around including the doors etc.. and a plywood roof and floor.. Similar to a bed topper but i got a flat bed so I need sides.. I been using a wood box but when running coyotes in the summer weather the wood box limits air flow and holds in the dogs heat and they just roast...
Thanks for any ideas, pics or tips...... Tim

For a flatbed angle iron frames with expanded steel "diamond" mesh sides doors work best imo unlimited air light weight because with tubing it has to be so close to keep every one in it can get expensive or heavey real fast. I have one I haven't used in a while that is similar and real useful box could put twelve sixty lb dogs easily in four compartments

Kinfield / Eustis area. I never really thought about the expanded steel/mesh stuff. I'm gonna look into that too.

I used 3/4 square tubing with hog fencing so it's light but easily weldable. I used plywood top and the bottom was my truck bed. I always like leaving a foot between the box and cab of my truck to store stuff. It works here in NM. Send me a pm and I can send you picks of it.
