"Houndn'em Bluetics" new mexico trip

Post by houndnem »

made a run out to new mexico to hunt with "ol red". we drove 12 hrs and got there just in time to hunt. the first day we got flat out ran by a smaller bear. it rained perty much the whole time we were there, but we did get to see some bear trees. the medinas showed us how it was done new mexico style! from the bear trees to the great camp food. they had been catching bears every day before we got there and had some tired dogs. they let us roll solo on a couple runs and my 1 year old king dog treed his own bear!!! special thanks for the hospitality and the good times. If any one is looking to send dogs to a trainer for bear, I would highly recomend getting a hold of ol red on here.

that pup is one of 2 pups I kept from last years litter. they both made over 20 lion trees this year and they have been making the transition into bear hunting pretty well for their age! the female sister to him is canned up right now from that bluetic that is treeing in the other pic. (her dad) as long as they don't come out too deformed they ought to be hell on wheels. king is that white and black dog in the solo pic. I usually have half white and black dogs and the other half bluetic lookin dogs out of a litter. let me know if ya want to try one of these experimental "Whiskey" x "thunder" pups. I want to send them around to a bunch of different people huntin different game to see how they do and if they are worth breeding again.

Ole red has been dog training since hae was about 10 yrs old. He and his brother jesse were on a hunt withe about 16 years ago this week i believe. If i need a bear dog the medina family would be my first stop. Besides being good dog men they are good people. If i was t so old and so far away, i would be there this weekend. Have a good time boys, i will stay in louisiana and try to run some cat.

Looks like you are getting it done, Jared! Our season is over here till Sept. 15th. I cant wait to get back in the woods and run the pads off these hounds, they are starting to drive me crazy, they have to much pent up energy. LOL.

I appreciate the offer, but no thanks. I don't run much outside my own bloodlines. I'm sure them pups of yours will be smokers, I've just got my hands full with my own stuff. Hook is gettin a little older now and has miscarried her last two litters so I think next time she comes in I will do one more Hook x thunder cross and keep all of them. good luck to ya, Jared.
