why is it that mi dnr can ticket you for having a coon in a live trap that hasent been released yet? it was a nuesence coon and traped that am. then here is the kicker they dont set the fine the cheboygan county traffic court does and the judge there is a female ,ya i didnt stand a chance.$360.00 fine got to be kidding , then here is a nother kicker I cought a small snake yesterday and thought it may be a mi. rattler, and while reserching it i found a story of a guy that was arested for killing one its protected, what a joke the experts say it is harmless and wont strike but will typically retreat, ya let me put him in a small place with one and see who gets bit ,lol...

You may be able to fight this as the rules on page 22 of the hunting digest states that
there is no season on coon on private property if they are doing or about to do damage.
Whether it was living in the garage attick - eating the pet cats food or whatever this is damage. It must have been a slow week for the officer and he was itching to use his pen.

That is just crazy, here in OKIE country you can trap coon whenever you would like and move them, you can KILL them whenever you need to on your own land or leased land when they are causing a potential nuisance. I feel for you guys and for sure the guys in California....
