Thanks for the heads up ,but i thought this state was broke, how the hell can they waest $4 a gallon on undercovers for guys sherring the cost of a hunt? go catch a poacher .

im sure the fines they hand out will cover the gas its where there going to stick the nozzle that a hunter should worry about .we would have been written up alot helping each other keep the hunting vehicle going in this economy.

Thanks for the heads up, i try my best to obide by the rules, Its these dcamn wardens they try and pursuide you and manipulate you that you are doing something wrong knowing full well you arent but they try and make rules as they go.. THEY ARE CROOKED as all get up. Thats why i read all the laws and keep highlighted copies of the grey areas so when they try and pull that crap, i pull out the regs and say look here MR. They dont like being told they are wrong and get pretty pissed and try and give you a ticket for anything they can, so be sure you are legal and you will be fine.

but back in the day in europe when men had to poach game to survive and game warden/keepers were petty tyrants, it was fairly common for game keepers and game wardens to get killed, sometimes by rifle shots on their front doorstep. people just don't understand you can attack a persons life and liberty only so long before they got nothing left to lose and no reason not to ratchet things up a notch.

if taking gas money is guiding then i been guiding for years and didnt even know it.If they ride in my truck they help pay for the gas to get them to the hunt or they stay at the house.This sounds like a plan to entrap some poor bear hunter just wanting to run his dogs and maybe get a new guy into hounds.It is no wonder the hunting heritage is dieing out every year.what are the game wardens and tree huggers going to do when there isnt any bear hunters and cat hunters to save them and there little ankle biters from the critters coming out of the woods and eating them.

Havnt been on here in awhile but a buddy told me about this posting so had to reply. Yes Pete Fish and Game will call that guiding. Any compensation is considered guiding. Unless you have 100 % faith in your friend DONT accept anything. Fish and Game will get people to sell out and you wont know it untill they are putting the cuffs on you.

Been off hunting for a couple of weeks now and just got back to a computer. Thought i would share how i came across the famous Kyle Kroll (CDF&G) and a trainee. I had no dog out but had my license and bear tag checked, serial # of my gun wrote down where i lived what kind of truck i had license plate number ect. and while all of this is happening a deer hunter on a quad with no helmet and a golden retriever running loose drives by me twice and doesn't get checked for anything. This was in plumas county, and i was not happy to be treated like a criminal for doing nothing.

I have it from a reliable source that it has been orderd for the head honcho in sacramento to stop and hassel all bear hunters. Carry a video camera or a still camera and a tape recorder with you and use them when being harrased and file a formal complaint with the sacramento office. This is bull$hit and needs to be stoped.

Make sure you asked for their full name and their badge number. Maybe asked where they live too so you can pay them a visit, lol.

I recently talked to my dad which is a retired police officer of 26 years and he informed me that you have done nothing illegal and are just sitting on the side of the road that F&G does not have the right to search you or your property. Just simply tell them no I have done nothing wrong and you do not have the right to search me or my rig. Then pull out the video camera and record.

Just wondering if anyone would know what kind of rights they would have to search your vehicle if you did not have a gun. If you don't carry a gun is it still considered hunting or would it just be considered training.

When I got searched last week, I had my dogs loaded and was heading home when he stopped me. He said he had a right to seach because he had seen me using a "spotlight". It actually was a flashlight I was using when I was loading my dogs! They held me for almost two hours and completely went thru my truck. Once they noticed my guides book they really stepped up the search!!

They were actually pretty nice after they found out that I wasnt a poacher and that I didnt have a gun. But all in all, I felt violated, and I surely let them know that they went way to far and that they really need to trust that all hunters arent poachers...

Next time, if they do it again, I will certainly run the video on them and I will make sure to file a complaint!
