which dog
which dog
Got tough decision there is two dogs the one seems to def have more grit and has the extra desire to put the bear up a tree and will get in there and pull fur almost to much. The other has a little better nose for cold trailing and bays hard not a dog that bays from 20ft away both great do it all dogs from starting the track to jumping the bear. Dilemma little better nose or more grit? Thanks

Re: which dog
Keep em both if the problems deciding which one to keep. I'd rather feed and extra dog if its what i want in a dog. You can never have too many "good" dogs
Run em, Catch em, Tree em!
Re: which dog
i dont know but ill take what ever one you dont want haha they both sound like danm good dogs.

Re: which dog
In that case I would buy the better trailing, close bay up dog. You don't realy need to have a dog pulling hair as long as its baying realy close... and that dog may live longer than the hair puller
Better yet buy them both if you got enough cash!

Re: which dog
Whats happening with the other dog you dont buy? may be interested if the guy still wants to sell it.
Re: which dog
he only wants to sell one and said i could choose needs to keep the other for his pack. thanks i think im gonna get the one with more guts its seems harder to find most of the dogs in our pack can cold trail and the new litter we had comes from two real good cold trailers
Re: which dog
Good deal. If you guys ever have any started dogs you want to get rid of let me know! Good luck hunting!
Re: which dog
The hair puller will cost you vet bills. I have a suicidal bluetick that spent all of last spring season injured from jumping on a bear, came fall season he did it again, he spent the rest of the year injured. The first day of spring season this year he ran right on in on a bear and got tore up really good, he has been injured throughout the whole spring and training season, he is finally healed up enough to hunt what is left of the fall season. I hope he has learned his lesson. I really dont think he is going to have a very long life span as a bear dog if he dont back off a little. But he deffinitly has grit, and a long list of vet bills. No matter how good he is, a dog does you no good when he is laid up due to injuries. Just my take on it.

Just a matter of time when a "Hair Puller " turns from an ASSET to a LIABILITY . Too much is NO GOOD
