Re: hello form ireland.
we use trencher fed system to keep our packs. men keep a couple/few hounds each and get together on hunt days and hunt em in a pack. i also do some digging, using terriers to flush or dig foxes that have been put to ground.
we like a good game hound that'll hunt from morning til dusk and will hunt through any cover or across any land after a fox. they must also have good voice.

Harry, just curious where are you in Ireland? Seen a few hounds when I was over there. Mainly Harriers, Beagles and Lurchers. How's the fight to keep the sport going? Last I heard they had banned stag hunting with hounds. Did the green party take over and shut you down completely yet?

Re: hello form ireland.
im in dublin but i hunt with packs in monaghan and wexford as well as my own little bit of hunting. the greens were destroyed in the election, the stag hunt was banned but they get around it using some loop hole, business as usual i hear. we use harriers. after the fuss the hunting community made when the greens were on the offensive all the other parties realised not to go near hunting. hunting here is looking good for a long time. i do some digging with terriers and odd nights lamping with lurchers too.

Re: hello form ireland.
That's good they were defeated. Bunch of bunny hugging idiots! I liked the Harriers the best when I was there. I always thought if one crossed a Harrier with a good tree hound you would get a much better hound for what you Irish hunt. Must be hard to keep dogs in Dublin. What part of Dublin are you in? Monaghan and Wexford are more Ideal places for dogs. I spent most my time in Co Cork, but prefered the ruggedness of Connemara.

Hello Harry, Welcome. It seems that my ancestors came from Co. Sleigo about seven generations ago. If a hound is running it, I'm having fun. Terry
