Tmalone,

We leave ours on all the time....charge them while they are on...this keeps the switches from going bad which is the only real problem that we have had other than breaking ant.s

Next time that you think a battery has gone bad, takethe collar apart and disconect the battery and wait 10 min or so then reasemble. We have found that resetting the computer inthe collar will allow the battery to then go back to charging like they should.

Just what we have found!

exactly, ive got six collars that get used a lot and have had them since the 30's first come out. only replaced one battery and think resetting it would have taken care of problem.

I am having the same problem, all of a sudden the collar won't take a charge, and it is only a couple months old. I have it unplugged as I am writing this, so we will see if it cures the problem. I am hoping it will because it was a sudden problem, the collar worked fine, then one morning I went hunting (took it off the charger that morning) and it died ( I don't know exactly when but less than 2 hours after I turned it on) tried cleaning the contacts and recharging, after a few hours the blue light would go out like it was charged, but when I turned it on it would say low battery and shut off in just a few minutes.
