California hound huters
my question is........ can I drive in or through California with a VALID cougar tag on a cougar to return back to Oregon taken from another state, and if you live in California can you have one in your possession, like a mount or rug ?

Last I heard, it doen't matter where you come from you cannot bring them into California.

No absolutely not. Illegal. The law is so strict that they just had it ammended so museums can have a mountain lion killed after the 1970's. If it was me I would call F & G in Sacrament and talk to a Leutenant. Ask him and write down the name of the person who transfered you to the LT and the name of the LT as well as the date and time.
