New Tires??????
I would like some input on new tires. These are the parameters
1. Primarily snow but with some mud.
2. Good to great puncture resistance.
3. Fairly good wear.
4. Actual experience, not what the brochure says.
I am running BF Mud terrain old style now,it is what is used in the oilfields here where companies don't care about price.

Re: New Tires??????
I've been running the Toyo mud terrain, they work great in mud and snow but don't have the longest tread life, but it's hard to expect a lot of tread life out of a mud terrain especially when they're on a diesel. They are a bit on the expensive side also.

nitto mud grappler do good in mud and snow if they are not too wide and wear good last a long time i got about 40000 out of mine on a 3/4 ton ford gas and the sidewall strength is almost unmatched never busted a tire and i ran them completely bald but they are really pricey i guess u get what u pay for

Re: New Tires??????
check out treadwright.com I got a set of tires from them mud/snow terrain 10 ply and they are awesome. I can't tell you about the mileage cuz iv'e only put about 1000 on them but they have some super thick sidewalls and really help me in muddy terrain. I paid just over $500 for the set of 4 delivered to my house.

Re: New Tires??????
i've got the toyo m/t on now. they are by far the best snow tire i've ever had. i can run in 2wd in pretty deep snow before i have to lock it in 4peel. that said...for 1400 bucks i got 22000 miles out of them on a dodge diesel. my last tires were les schwab wild country m/t and i got 40000 miles. granted they werent as good in the snow but 1 saeson for 1400 bucks? same truck 2 different miles and results.

Re: New Tires??????
+1 for Toyo MT's. If you have a small truck, they are really good for tread wear. I have a toyota and the best I have pulled off on a set of these tires is 40k miles.

Re: New Tires??????
Toyo's perform well but wear real fast no matter what vehicle you have them on. I like Cooper S/T's, handle real well and are good on the highway as well, even though 90% of my driving is in the woods. I personally liked the Firestone Destination M/T's the best, were priced the best (at the time, not sure now), performed the best, and lasted the longest. Just my 2 cents

Re: New Tires??????
Your missing an important piece of information to get good input! What are you putting them on? that makes the biggest difference in a tire what works good on a full size sometimes don't work for crap on a small truck, so what kind of rig is it and maybe get some better info!

Re: New Tires??????
Maxxis bighorns. I love these tires and they are my second set. I had one set on a full sized gmc sierra and they made all the difference in the world on that pickup. I now have them on my new tacoma and i know they do good on these pickups because a buddy of mine ran them for two winters and they did awesome on his. Take it for what its worth but thats my experience with them.
