Rull of thumb dont hunt in someone elses spots though, Have you found a hound yet,Ill give you one if you pay shipping. Every young man should try walking behind a hound one time in his life. Might get hooked like the rest off us. We could use all the houndsmen we can get in every state. If you dont want to pay shipping there must be a hunter that could part with a hound near you.

I've only got one dog, so i mainly hunt coons over here in S.E idaho. The best spots for me have always been along river & creek bottoms at night & in culverts and hollow logs during the day. I don't know about western idaho, but eastern idaho has alot of racoon. What part of the state are u in?

The coon popluation can be cyclical. You may see several years of decent numbers then they get hit w/ parvo or other disease that cleans em out for awhile. the habitat has to be right also

Re: coon in idaho
Im here is southwestern idaho as well right next to oregon...Ya i don't know if any of this hound stuff is going to work out. My dad has come up with a thousand excuses why i shouldn't have a hound dog.. It's really to bad, it's all i have been able to think about for the last month.
