Nothing seriously. There is good and bad in every breed, Finding the good is the key. Lots of people like the breed and make it work but its not to say that a walker is better than any other breed or any worse.

Oldman said it best.

Its all personal preferences.. I have come across a lot if different breeds in different circumstances and have my likes and dislikes of them all. I prefer to run Walkers(can't forget the beagle who thinks he IS a Walker)..that's just MY preference. I won't fill my own head full of hot air and say my dogs are "perfect" but I'm happy with how our dysfunctional pack works LOL.

What kind of game are you planning on running? Don't forget about mixed up grade dogs, iv seen some really really good grade dogs that flat out can smoke a track. I love my black dogs and my walker. My walkers real purdy and to smart for her own good. Iv seen some good walker dogs, and a lot of tree happy ones that tree in the middle of a track. Just have to find out what style of hounds you like and find a line of dogs or dog that fits you. If your just going to run coons pm me and we can talk about some spring pups I might have that would probably make you more than happy. I was going to keep the whole litter for my self, but I would help out some one just starting out. Good luck, and have fun. Remember there just dogs.

as far as walkers i personally think it easier to find athletic type hounds in the breed ,but find it harder to find exstremely tough feet on them . they are still my favorite.
