I saw a dog box from Georgia with 2 small squirrel cage fans mounted on top of the box near the front.I assume they were automotive, maybe a heater or AC. Had to be 12 volt? Didn't get to talk to the owner, as to how they worked. In Florida we try to use a tall, open made box with attachable panels for colder weather. I'll hush now. John

Any of the 12 volt electric radiator fans will work just fine. You can also use wind power fans like what most guys have on top or there shop's or sheds for when your moving. I too try to keep the box open as can and always use paint and carpet thats going to reflect the heat. And for the guys that have bedliners make sure to use shavings even in the summer to keep them off that hot bed it soaks up the heat.

thanks for the ideas, the radiator fans might be my answer espically since i work in a bodyshop i got some access to some used ones  .. those squirrel cages would be excellent cause they really move some air but im unsure myself how i would wire them.. i got a ford ranger with a full diamond plate box that covers the whole bed.. our season starts in august so we have some days that gets pretty warm but prolly nothn like florida, i was jus lookn for some ideas to piddle around with in my spare time.. any other ideas jus send them my way..

I put an RV fan in my box. You can set the thermostat so that it will come on at a certain temperature, and either pull air in or pull air out.
