I just hunted one day w/some buddies in Pocahontas - 1st time I hunted there.

Good job, send some off them bears to Boone / Kanawha county! We have hunted seven days , seen about 2 differant tracks (old tracks)first day , then ran a track Yesterday, by the time the dogs got on his rear he ran over a high wall and left the dogs behind, I had to climb up and get them off.kinda was exciting looking across a mine strip seeing the bear run down the wall , I still don't know how he made it down without killing his self!!

WV Bearchaser what is a high wall? I haven't heard that term used before.

Jason , it's a cut in the mountain side , it usually runs the length of the mountain , it's made from surface mining coal. I will try to post a pic, unless someone can explain it better. Kinda reminds me of the grand canyon !
