Dog protection

Was wondering if any one used dog vest or any type of protection for there dog. And what was the one to get. Got 2 plott hounds and don't want to have to take them to vets.

unless you're hunting hogs i wouldn't bother. even then you have to weigh the risks of overheating against the risk of a real bad cut. the worst cut is the hole in the pit where most vests don't protect anyway. the other worst is an abdominal cut that dumps the guts on the ground and a vest long enough to prevent that hampers running & slows the dog alot.
