I agree Smiley. Works great at any age. Just don't expect it to happen over night. It takes awhile to work.

No way in hell I would castrate my own dogs. However I know a few houndsman whom I would have do my dogs for me. Ive seen it done enough times to do it myself. I simply dont have the courage to do it.

Ok I show my dogs more love than most. But if im raising dogs or ranch animals im going to cut where I can so I can do more of what I enjoy. I simply wanted to know if any complications could occur using a calf band. I know how to cut pigs and horses and bulls. I've never done a dog yet. I would not do something to risk em. I probably could do as shorty said but I was hoping a cheap and painless way would be ok.

I lost a goat to the bands. I guess the flies got to him. I will never do that a again. If I get anymore goats or need a dog done it will go to the vet.

I have castrated my own dogs for years. Wagging tail when you get done. I do agree you ought to know what you are doing though.
