Spike- The Hound Council Meeting is @ Chuck's business location/office in Sumner. Saw one spot where it said it begins @ 1:00, but another that it begins @ 12:00. If u find a number to call to confirm, let me know. Not sure who is running for what office; or how the election process works , but I am willing to throw my hat in the ring and run for President of the Washington Hound Council. Would love for someone that has the time and energy to run for V.P to join me so we can try and get ALL our hound hunters back in the woods- not just a few! I'm not interested in organizing field trials. I am interested in getting our hunting rights with our hounds back! Anyone else out there on the same page?

I think a good way to start restoring our rights is to elect a president that is all about restoring rights to the people and letting the people run the government and not greedy, wealthy activist groups and big business. Check out my thread about Ron Paul in the big game hunting with hounds section.

We may not have the money but we have the right to vote and the ability to pass the word on.

I 100% AGREE with darvin and spike, the one thing i would like to add is, we still need to have some type of events to raise money to help out in the fight. join a club!!!(lcsa is trying to keep on the political end also)
it doesnt matter if its turkey shoots, fishing durbies, or water races. just make sure we are doing something on that end also....If no money is needed to help get our hunting back, then to hell with the events. i just dont see a way to do that.

I was at the hound council meeting and again there is next to nobody there, I understand some of u proly had somthing already planned an could not make it. But getting on here an bitching is getting us no were!! I agree with plott/walker- untell somebody can come up with a better way of building money for a war found other then holding some type of events. I think a good way is join a club get active an show up to events to support the sport!! Untell we get enough money an active people to try an push to get some of our rights back.

Why is it the hound council responsibility for people to stand up for themselves? Was the hunter a member of a club or the hound council? Better yet a active member? If not why would the hound council go out of there way to say somthing. You are the hound council "we the people"!

Excuse me for butting in here guys. The council is responsible to stand up, because that is what the members have paid thier dues for. The reason I am a member of our club, is to unite as an organization to fight for our rights to be in the woods with our dogs. It is numbers that the government listens to. One person at a time will not get the recognition that sveral hundered at once will. Unfortunately Wa. and Oregon are governed by the big cities and there is a lot of liberalism in these cities. If your orginization was to eduate some of the people that dot know anything about hound hunting, and make them realize that it is a sport that the game truly has the upper hand, and that houndsmen are substantualy more selective of the game they harvest, than bait hunters. You might get somewhere. Just my two cents guys. If someone could send me a P.M. of your orginizations info. I would gladly pay my dues to be a member. Tim Hunt.

Well said T.Hunt! I am not sure what Plott/Walker feels the role of the Hound Council actually is but I believe their job is to do whatever they can to represent Hound Hunters in Washington State whether they are members or not. People join organizations that work for their best interest and the more you prove that you are doing something for the houndmen and women of Washington, the more members you are going to get. The Hound Council members are elected positions. It is up to the President of the Hound Council to get things rolling. That is why he or she was elected right??? I would be interested to know what the focus of the Hound Council is in 2012. There will be a Hound Council meeting this weekend and I would encourage all houndsmen and women of Washington State to attend the meeting and put in their 2 cents. I believe it is the responsibility of the Hound Council's elected officials to reach out to hound clubs and people that support hound hunters to increase their (our) membership. Would be interested to know what other people think the role of a Hound Council should be. I will post this under "General" and see what is said.
