Fed it for over a year. No problems but the sales guy kept giving out deals to other people but not me. Switch to diamond high energy, its cheaper and just as good.

unreal_tk, what did you pay for the black gold, and what do you now pay for the diamond, we used to get diamond until they got to be more expensive then black gold. i liked diamond better.

I have been feeding black gold for almost 2 years now with the occasional " Ill try something new" bag. I Like the food alot and the dogs seem to as well, If i think a dog is starting to look a bit on the thin side then i just feed a little more and within a week they start looking better to me. I used to feed diamond until i kept finding whole food pellets in their crap that was not getting obsorbed. Plus they run some pretty good deals on the black gold here. With my father inlaws contracters account at the hardware store here in town i only have to pay a lil over $17.00 a bag for black gold with his discount. I cant complain about that one either.

we get black gold by the ton, so its a fairly good deal, the dogs seem to do good on it all winter long(i do feed more then the recomended amount, plus rice and eggs a few times a week) but it seems like during spring season when they are running hard i cant keep the weight on them. i know i feed almost double in the spring as the winter, and i still had a few dogs that needed more.... diamond seemed to keep the weight on alittle better, when i fed twice as much.

I was paying 33 a bag best deal by pallet was 31. Now diamond started 28, now 31 but I use my mothers senior discount and its a smidge under 28 a bag not in the pallet. If the black gold guy would cover the same price id go back. I liked it, but bottom dollar is a must for me. And he was cutting deals for others that he wasn't for me. If there was another local seller id check it out.

For those of u that are feeding the black gold, how much are u feeding the dogs? I no what the bag says an every dog is different but on average...

i fed one pallet of black gold in the winter dogs damb near staved out on it and pupies fed free choice were just skin and bones

i measured my scoop yesterday, its just under 6 cups, i think the bag says 4 cups? so i do about one cup more a day on most of the dogs. and double that when there hunting harder.

I feed black gold for years and started to sell it also. But when the bags started to get smaller and the prices kept going up. The last stuff I feed and sold was terrable. I started feeding high standard and I am having good succes it and it is in 50# bags.

I fed Black Gold for a few years started out at 14 bucks a bag and went to 26 in about 2 years.The last Black Gold I fed was yellow not black so I stopped and started feeding Diamond High Energy for $22 a bag dogs are doing great on it.

i feed black gold 4 cups a day to my smaller dogs and 6 cups to my bigger dogs usually pay 23-24 a bag but sometimes get it on sale for 21 for a 40# bag seems to keep them fat and happy my bigger dogs scarf it down and the smaller two usually just pick at it when they feel like it

Very good dog food. Have feed it to our dogs for two years know and wont change for anything. When we are hunting we feed the black bag and go to a lower protien one when there not running as much.
