Travis I won Friday night and no cast winners on Sat. night...terrible weather so since I did not get the trophy here until Monday were going to do it again in March.

I hope u guys can send somebody to hound council meeting coming up, we have yet to see anybody from this club at a meeting an I no its a long drive but would be nice to see an here how its going!

Got confirmation from the UKC today and will have our last night hunt March 9th & 10th 2012; so put these dates on your calander as we will be also be crowning the Washington State Champion as well. Hope to see all of you there as our club is growing and look forward to having bench shows also when we resume our events next fall.

March is going to be a busy month; 1st we have Oregon's World Qualifer the 1st weekend and then will have the Washington State Championship at our club in Pomeroy WA. Our club is growing and would like to thank all who have attended and look forward to meeting new faces as well.
Get those hounds tuned up and come and support both UKC clubs in March.

Is this club gonna join the wa state hound council?

I don't know what the club is about. Never heard of a club joining a club but if we to join where is the club at and what kind of events do you guys put on...rememeber were a long way aways from Western WA.

The wa. State hound council represents all clubs in wa. Every club in wa. Is a member other then yours. The hound council dose not put on events put has the insurance to cover most the events an what not. Idk no how to explain it but maybe somebody can do it better then me?

I guess I don't understand. We have insurance through the United Kennel Club and represent every breed of hounds. The money we pay them help perserves our hunting rights not only in WA but the whole country.
What are the dues and does each person pay or does each club pay as a whole and where does the money go? We are a young club (1st year) and have just enough to pay for our license, insurance and field trial permit and prizes for hunt winners.

I get in touch with someone who knows a little more. An how dose ukc help preserve our hunting? The state of wa is considering outlawing night hunting an I didn't see ukc doing anything to prevent that!! Wdfw is gonna bring it up again an that's y I was wondering about this club. I think we need to all stick 2gether an shut this down seems its all we have left here in wa!!

Back to the topic at hand; Pomeroy Houndsmen Club is a non-profit club that helps perserve our hunting rights through a organized kennel club that has the houndsman best interest. Our club is represented by the best organization in the Country that has dealt with anti's for many years and has the money and the lawyers to see we keep our rights as a houndsman. Good luck to everyone and our door is always open to new people wanting to promote hounds.

Dee, check out this link when you get the chance...the WSHC is basically an umbrella that does things politically for hound hunters. A lot of the other clubs divert a portion of their membership fee to them. Clubs themselves might do some political stuff, but the WSHC is usually more involved. I don't believe they actually hold Field Trials or Hunts, but they are somewhat in the background helping out the local clubs.

It is up to the membership of this club whether or not to support that organization and I am sure any desicion if considered will take place in a club meeting not in this forum.
