Were havin the same thing happen we kick him out of the north side of an old house every time and then he trees comes out crosses the creek a couple times and then we loose him at the same bend every time. there's not a tree one around and no beaver hole s for him to run into he just disappears.
If it has fur I chase it.

the moves coon pull are great seeing why the slightly slower dogs are better it sounds like he runns in to that spot does a circle comes out on his track and makes a turn they are missing
a local coon hunter was bragging he has the best dog in this island so i said ok i would like to see my dog run with his
this spot is river and marsh a mess uggh well they went down the river running a coon his grand nite champ dog keep goin staight mine took a hard right treed 2 hundred yards away from river he said i have run these coon a thousand times there is no way my dog has the coon that fast hmmm in this here woods no way she has the coon ok halfway to the tree oh pennys on her way back oh lets wait by the truck hmmm 2o mins later his dog is treein with mine hmm that coon would of been gone long gone if my dog was not there i think might be wrong
i would run that coon with a different dog im not sayin ya dogs are not good just they have habits and a different dog might push that coon to turn differently if there is a track in there is one back out :beer

my grandfather always tells me a story about a coon that did that same thing , they could always start him in the same place and and lose him in the same place. this happened dozens of times apparently, one time he finally saw the coon hiding in a pipe that stuck up out of the river. he alwasy says he wished he hadent killed that one because he could go have a good race any time he wanted.

It wasnt a den tree it was just a few big oaks. I think the coon had been run many times he just found a real good place to hide nobody ever got him he was a real old boar. The night we got him we walked up an down the side of the mountain over a hour trying to see in all the forks.

I have found if you throw in a few jagds, those coon don't disappear near as often. It also works to go hang out in the spot the coon loses the hounds. Just my two cents.
