You can run in Yuba county/ then just not bears.
I'd rather to have not ever been known.
Then to be known as A liar!!!

I LIVED IN CA FOR 21 YEARS THAT IS WHY I LEFT BECAUSE OF THE FINE LAWS THEY HAVE.HERE IN ID BEAR SEASON OPENS FOR DOGS THE 15 OF APRIL THROUGH THE END OF SEPT CLOSED IN AUG.I DON'T REALLY CARE ABOUT KILLING JUST LIKE TO RUN AND TAKE PICS.I HAD A COUPLE PEOPLE FROM THERE TELL ME YOU CAN RUN THEM AS LONG AS YOU DO NOT CARRY A WEAPON?

I haven`t lived in ca in many yrs but they left a summer training season spot open by snow mtn./goat mtn. out of stoney ford ca. for hound hunters and closed the rest of the mtns down from hunten bear/ ya might can just say your runnen pig or cyote (I believe its year round on them ) !? I believe the training area is in the corners ofv Lake county and Yolo county you might check with the usf dept office at stoneyford ca they are ph no listed and over see that in the blm area of ca not far from plumis area/course i was a long hunter most ca biggame hunters roll out their riggs on friday even ang burn up 2 tanks of fuiel getten there an hunten/then putting in a part more of a tank too get home by sunday night ! now that everone has tracken colars and gps`s it could be considerably easer on fuiel needs for a hunt ?

Hey, no you can't say you are running pigs/coyotes etc. if you are in the Dog Control zone because you can not run dogs in the Dog Control zone when it is closed...on anything...period. The entire county here (Plumas) is in the Dog Control zone. Some of the area on the coast range that you are talking about is open all year but you still are not allowed to run bear in California unless it is during the bear season or you are helping on a Depredation hunt. You can order game regs from CADFG or have someone send you some, they have maps of what is and is not in the Dog Control zone, several more areas have been closed in recent years, some of the coast range and Lassen county are now off limits during Dog Control.
Well thanks for the info Cecil.Liz why could you have not of given me that info the first time I asked.Anyhow I have a friend in Chester that does not run bear but tells me that they are thick he spends alot of time in the woods. If anyone was ever to come to Idaho to run dogs I know I would have given them a better answer than some of the responses I got.Good luck with that fine state of yours.

Adrich ~ I think everyone gave you that very information from the onset of this entire post. You were just hell bound determined on the fact that you could run Bear here somewhere out of the season. I as well as at least 4 others told you NO you can't.
Well, let me rephrase that a little for you. NO YOU CAN'T unless you don't mind looking over your shoulder every second to see if Johnny Law is coming. If that doesn't bother you, then YES, you can run anything anytime you want.
As I said before man, IT'S NOT WORTH IT.
Have a good day!
