Coyote hound training

Ive been trying to run my hound on coyote he wont seem to stick with the tracks ive been thinking of taking him to a coyote pen any advice?

Are you running him alone? how old is the hound? I would suggest hooking up with a group of hunters who coyote hunt and see if they would let you drop your dog in with theirs. The other dogs should keep him interested if that doesnt work taking him to a training pen alone probably wont do much.

Hes 3 we run him with other dogs but just doesnt seem to stick with the track

If he is 3 and wont do it. There probably is not much that is going to change that at this point. Most likely just don't care for them, and prefers other game. Sometimes just leaving them in the truck to listen to the other dogs may help with the desire to join in, but that does not always work. I don't put much stock in pens either. To me it's like working dogs on a caged coon. Ok a few times maybe, but after that doing more harm then good.

Some dogs will chase anything you put them on, others only prefer certain game. Just the way it goes.

Finally got him to run them. We put him on a hot track with and older dog and he ran the coyote forever. Didnt catch the dogs tell 530 and ran out of time.
