Hunting in washington
Hunting in washington
So I just moved to wash from Oregon. I am living in Kalama right on the river. I need to get my furtakers liscence so I can at least go chase some coons. I have some great country and alot of coons up here to hunt . I spent the last two hours on line and I think my computer still lives in oregon beacuse I cant find anything on the wash.gov site. I put this post under the bobcat forum beacuse i thought buddy might be able to give me some info. My report, last week big creek 3 coons i morning. My dogs are clicking. I must have hunted 20 nights before I started seeing those little green eyes. I have bagged six so far. It feels great after hunting so much and thinking I had bogus dogs to start seeing game. The dogs are loving it.

Re: Hunting in washington
You just need a small game license in washington for Coons.
No bobcat hunting in Washington, You'll have to get an out of State Oregon Furtakers license and hunt in Oregon for Bobcats..

If you were born after 1972 you'll need hunter ed. I"m putting on a class starting March 7th here at the house.. You can probably find a closer class.
Here is the Link to all the hunter education classes for WA. you also could do what they call a Paradim course which you basically study on your own and then you would test out and have a short Class on some of the topics.

yes zac u can hunt at nite for coons around here. the only game u can hunt in this state with dogs is coon. still fun to have the sound of excited, game thirsty hounds running thru the brush disturbing the peace of the wild!!! also, i live in longview, just a few minutes north of u if ud wanna go out sumtime and get to know more hound hunters in the area.

i dont know if its just this site, but there seems to be alot of washington guys running dogs, and all we got is coon hunting! kalama is nice when the gate are open, or a walk hunt. but remember you cant be in there until day light(timber company rules!)
Re: Hunting in washington
not up here in longview, go in when u please. no signs stating otherwise. we hunt the woods at nite all the time.

Re: Hunting in washington
Weyco is always closed to motorists unless noted, there don't have to be a sign! But there are many other land owners wich allow it unless posted.
Turn'em loose- if were gonna loose them mine as well loose them all!
Re: Hunting in washington
i dont go on weyco land because it isnt legal. i go on public land and fibre land. and if they didnt want anyone there after dark they would post a sign or lock gates. plain and simple.......weyco land is mostly locked up anyhow. i dont go around gates or walk in where i go. i can drive in and all around year round. its called abernathy/mill creek areas. most the guys i hunt with work for the timber companies, whether its big or small game they tell me its huntable no matter the time. and they have dun this for years. ive never seen these woods closed in the last 14 years ive hunted them. if u dont know where im talking about then u have no reason to jump me about my hunting areas.
