I think the change is great.. It's much easier now to just go thru and look at the classifieds.. they can be edited to add info or take info out.. I think stud dog ads should go in the breed section- and if you have any questions, just pm the seller.. Do your research before you buy..

It's easier then having to have the moderators go thru each ad to see if something is getting out of control after they keep getting bumped up.. I'm sure the mods don't want to have to wade thru the classifieds every day along with the rest of the threads on this board..

Every time I try to vote, It comes up 50/50 I no reason to believe this is any different I purposely thought and decided against a poll.

Like I said, It's not about selling ads. Pick your option.

#1 Remove the sticky (Don't sell ads).
#2 Donate all the money made.

It's about Cleaning up the classifieds.

Coondawg.com is a classified website and it's free.. I don't visit that site very much because it's mostly classifieds, Why do we need another website for classifieds?.

If the classified guys want a way to keep their ad on top they can come up with ideas on how to do it... without Bumping or BTT.

That was my idea for them, apparently it wasn't a good one.

I sure do envy the millions of dollars you are making from us every year! I also envy the fact that you don't have to do anything for it but sit back and watch the checks roll in. Might I suggest direct deposit, that way you don't have to risk a paper cut.

I can't figure out what makes you think we own this forum. We surely do not. Buddy has left it to us to cast votes to help with tough decisions, still leaving him in the exact same position. A divided group of people, impossible to please everyone. Some folks say he looks to the drama to bring up visits, but when he does something to reduce drama people get upset about that. Sounds like a damned if you do, damned if you don't. And by the way, if it was up to me the accusations you are making would leave you no choice but to use other forums. Buddy is trying a lot harder than I would at being fair and balanced.

I think alot of this must have to do with how people look at the topics, maybe i do this different then the rest of you, i start at the top, and work my way down, so if i look at classifieds or dont look, its because i didnt click on it.

do most of you that are complaining about the old way look at active posts or new post, and thats why you didnt like the old way?

coondawgs.com is a great example of what not to be. There is very little discussion on that website. Just a place to sell east coast dogs!

Yes you're correct. That's exactly one of the biggest reasons. Hopefully I can figure out a way to separate it so that when we click on the View New topics 95% of them aren't classifieds and most of that was just Stupid Discussions (By that I mean Something that could be done via PM) on the classifieds. It gets annoying to try to see 4 pages and click on an ad only to see something like BTT, Or send me a pic...

I don't mind the discussion on the classifieds, The problem was that It was taking over the website. So Until I can figure out a solution I decided to try it this way.

Some issues for me Personally and have nothing to do with the rest of the website: I Have more complaints with the classifieds and This area cost me the most time and work, I get called names more times about the classifieds. And more rules are broken about the classifieds.

So this One rule Fixed allot of headaches for me, and it stopped the website from taking over also.

I was actually proud of the idea, and thought it would be a good thing for all except a few that like to keep their ads on the top. Thats what the paid ads were for. Just a way for people to promote their dogs more and not get lost. It had nothing to do with money, money was the only way I could Separate it fairly.

Obviously I didn't expect as much push back on it.

That's when I started calling and trying to find a PHP developer to try and Custom build something that works for everyone.

If I can figure out a solution to get the reply button back, and Break the Classified section into it's own so that it's kind of separate (but still uses all your login and Account info), I'm thinking about having Two "View New Posts Buttons" One with classifieds, and the other without the classifieds. Then I have no problem bringing it back.

Anyways, Sorry this topic got out of hand, I kinda got sucked into it, I don't like throwing numbers out there, I don't take everyone for granted and I try to make sure this site is Secure, safe and enjoyable for everyone that's what I should do for the advertisement I receive from it..

I want to clear something up, I'm not looking for a Thank you or anything like that, I shouldn't have gotten worked up enough to throw out what I do behind the scenes, It makes it look like I'm wanting praise Which is not the case at all.. I just don't like folks thinking it's all to make a buck.

There are Much easier folks to make a buck off than a bunch of Broke divorced Houndsmen..

My suggestion, for what its worth - the old way didn't work so let the new way roll for a while (I'd say at least a month or more) and if you think thats not working then try something else. Most people don't like change until they get used to it. Good site, good luck.
