Anyone hound hunt outta a superduty
Just curious if anyone hunts outta a ford superduty I gotta f350 crew I was thinking of using instead of having 2 trucks and all ins stuff. Do they take the abuse ok and is the cost of wear and tear on bigger truck worth it. It's a 2006.

Use the hell out of it. Best truck to hunt out of if you can afford it. Had 2 of them and they both took the pounding I gave them! God willing will have another one soon. Had mine set up with a winch on the front and back. Only had to use the back once but it paid for itself that day! LOL Good luck! also i was getting 19-20 MPG with the 7.3 litre engine.

Thanks I won't get that kinda mileage mines the V10 just wondered if it was worth beating them up and down all the back rds and if they'd hold up. Thanks

Re: Anyone hound hunt outta a superduty
I bird hunted out of 1997 f350 for 9 years from Texas to Montana 269,000 miles mostly off road. Never had any trouble with it holding up, diesel prices was the only trouble I had. I now have a chevy 2500 diesel and it isn't as good. The transmission is better and pulls a loaded trailer better than the ford. I wish I would have got another Ford. As big n blu says ,use it it'll hold up.

I hunt out of a 350, is nice because it will hold dog box and 4-wheeler in back. only problem is fuel cost

I drive a 05 f350 for work and it is holding up real well. If they hold up for us loggers they will hold up for a hound guy!
Re: Anyone hound hunt outta a superduty
thanks guy leaning on keeping it and not getting a half ton. thanks

Not a ford but I have a heavy duty dodge and don't have any problems running nasty forest service roads and trails.

You just gotta get used to backing up alot. Good news is that a long pickup is easier to drive backwards than a short one.
Good Luck!!

10-4 I just bought some heated mirrors for mine, I figure I use them enough it should be a good investment.
One other thing Just don't bust the Power steering cooler right in front. You'll loose power steering and power Brakes at the same time. Kinda takes the fun out of running dead end roads out. and You're arms are dead at the end of the day.
I think I've busted three of them while hunting, I finally tucked an after market one up out of the way and haven't had a problem since.
