IMMEDIATE ACTION NEEDED
California Sportsmen: Pro-Hunting Commissioner's Position in Jeopardy
Anti-hunting groups are trying to force pro-sportsmen, pro-hunting Commissioner Dan Richards off the California Fish & Game Commission. Why? Because he legally took a mountain lion during a hunt in Idaho.
A. Attend March 7 Commission meeting in Riverside, Calif., and speak in support of Commissioner Richards.
The Mission Inn Hotel & Spa San Diego Room1 3649 Mission Inn Avenue Riverside
8:30AM
B. Contact your Assemblymember and Senator and tell them to support Commissioner Richards.
http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/yourleg.html
C. Contact Gov. Brown 916-445-2841 and tell him you support Commissioner Richards.
D. Contact the California Fish & Game Commission 916-653-4899 and support Commissioner Richards.
Act today. Under state law, any fish and game commissioner can be removed by a simple majority vote in both houses of the state Legislature.
Currently 40 of the 80 members of the Assembly are calling for Richards to resign. This could easily tip the balance of power on the Commission into the hands of anti-hunting extremists.
Show your support for Commissioner Richards today!

Re: Important Action Needed of all Hunters!!!
Statement provided By CHC President, Josh Brones:
It is very important that we get the word out to as many hunters as possible, so everyone on this distribution list is encouraged to forward this email to everyone you know.
Folks, in the course of my acting in a legislative capacity for CHC, I have become acquainted with Dan Richards. President Richards is an unapologetic hunter, and a staunch advocate for the use of hounds. In fact, before news of his lion hunt made it out to the media, he had approached me during a meeting we were both at and excitedly told me about the hunt, how he loved following the hounds, how it was the hardest hunt he had ever been on.
I can tell you with 100% certainty that we MUST have Dan Richards on the Commission if we are to have any hope of preserving our American Heritage as Houndhunters... I therefore ask that you each take a few minutes out of your busy schedules to take as many of the following steps as you possibly can:
Contact your Assemblymember and Senator and ask them to support Commissioner Richards. To determine who your representatives are, simply visit: http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/yourleg.html and enter your Zip Code in the field provided.
Contact Governor Jerry Brown at 916.445.2841 and tell him that you support Commissioner Richards.
Contact the California Fish & Game Commission at 916.653.4899 and tell the Commission that you support Commissioner Richards.
Attend the March 7th Commission meeting in Riverside and speak in support of Commissioner Richards. The meeting will be held at the Mission Inn Hotel & Spa located at 3649 Mission Inn Avenue at 8:30 AM.
Please act today. All it will take to remove Commissioner Richards is a simple majority vote in both houses of the legislature. Forty of the eight members of the Assembly sent Richards a letter asking him to resign, and a vote to remove him may be imminent...unless we stop them. Please don’t let the Humane Society of the United States win this battle, or it may very well motivate them to launch a bill or initiative that would ban the use of hounds for bear or all mammals.
The hound hunting community is well known for the power of its grassroots activism, so let’s show them what we are capable of and rally our support around one of our own, shall we!
Thank you for your time and dedication.

I called the Fish and Game commission to give my support to Mr. Richards. They said they dont take phone calls for the record. If you want it to count for the record it has to be in writing or e-mail.

It is sad that someone can lose there job for doing absolutely nothing wrong. This should have never even have been an issue.

Re: Important Action Needed of all Hunters!!!
I had a buddy in Frisco call his assemblyman and state senator and he told them there is more important issues to be discussed and that what Richards did was lawful in the state he was hunting in and there was nothing wrong and it doesn't reflect upon his duty in CA. This guy I know isn't even a hunter, but at least he is on ours/Richard's side.

Not sure if it is considered a win when they want to replace him next year. We need more people like him on the comission. We as a the public need to figure out how to keep him in the comissin for another term.
We also need to figure out how to have a say on who represents the comission on future appointments
