Sportdog 2525

Re: Sportdog 2525
I bought one a couple weeks ago. Had the same problem, could not find reviews but decided to try it out anyway. I chose this system based on value. Seems to me like SportDog offers a competitive product at a better price than Tri-Tronics. I am new to this and can not compare it to any other systems since I have not used them. I Have not really had the chance to use it to its full capability on my dog since he is still young. I don't want to ruin him with the collar. I do like that it has many different modes that you can set for what suits you best. in the mode I chose, the top button is tone, middle but is high level momentary, bottom button is low level momentary, and pressing both middle and lower is high level continuous stimulation. It is easy to change modes and intensity levels on the collar. Seems very versitile, good for basic obedience training or trash breaking. I also like the size and feel of the transmitter and ease of use with gloves on.
Too close for missiles, I'm switching to guns.

yeah, im in the same boat hahah im new to this too and i brought one because it was a good price and still had good range. i havent had any problems yet, the transmitter can take a beating though. i took off with it on the hood of my truck and it fell off on the road and still works fine seems like a good durable set up

I was kinda of wondering about those myself. I am not to happy with Tri-Tronics right now, I bought a 6 dog Classic 70 EXP last year, brand new, I have had to replace 4 out of the 6 collars, at my cost, seems like Tri-Tronics always has a excuse to back out of honoring their warranty. Then not long ago I had the recievers selector switch quit working, it would only control 3 of the collars. After a nasty letter of how dissatisfied I have been in their products they did replace the reciever under warranty.

wow! for the forty years i have owned tri-tronics products, they always had an outstanding product, and pretty fair custumer service. i believe i heard garmin bought the company (not really sure if this is true). i sure hope this isn't going to turn in to a garmin thing!!!

if it is true that garmin bought tri-tronics, and knowing their reputation for messing things up. i guess a truly reputable could go to the toilet, while they fix everything that isn't broke. while giving terrible customer service!!
