no weight gain or loss

i have a 2 year old black and tan/walker mix that will eat 3 cups of food once a day but she doesnt seem to be gaining weight, but also not losing it. i feed her this much because she looks skinny. she always looks skinny but is healthy and has recently been to the vet. even there they said she looked skinny. i had her spayed and wormed along with all shots. i feed her the 'better' foods from walmart and fred meyers. should i feed her sumthing better from a feed store with more proteins? i also have a 9-10 month old walker pup that is eating the same food, not amount, and shes thicker. i know different breeds show different characteristics but im just curious.

My hounds hunting 5-6 cups off season 3 1/2-4 1/2.Hunting they aslo get all meat they catch plus fat from the butcher.If I'm out corn oil mixed with kayro syrup.Dogs are from 50-65#.

ok, so i need to step up her feeding a lil more and possibly add sum more fats? they are hounds after all......lol. ok thanks.

you may want to start adding a good probiotic to the dogs food . there is a condition called EPI -exocrine pancreatic insuficiency that basically doen't allow the dog to digest protiens from feed . it is treated with adding a good brobiotic to feed along with b-12 shots . you can get probiotics at just about any feed store in powder form and follow directions .

i use the diamond athletic and my hounds look nice in couple days they only get 3 cups of if a day. like 35 bucks a bag here in vt but works great.

I have several littermates, one can eat one cup of food a day and stay over fat. One can eat twice a day, three cups, each time of the highest protein and fat food I can find and is still skinny as a rail. They are all different, feed her as much as she can eat and see if she gains weight, or add more stuff like the meat fat and supplements.

X2 2 2/3 cups 60# dogs they all look great. Will probably increase when they get to run more. Made a deal with feed store buy 10 bags at a time $31.00 each

i bought sum diamond and shes gaining weight very nicely. never owned hounds before, didnt know they were so tempermental with their food. lol. guess its only the best for my hounds from now on.
