Okay guys, Whats the truth on this topic?
I was told the other day by my buddy that his fur buyer told me the reason the cat hides were so high this year was because its an election year and if obama or clinton wins they are eleminating the fur market completely. So there will not be anymore transporting furs over sees. Is this true is this country really coming to this?

have no idea if its true or not but with thse two democrats it really does not matter which one gets in if they do. Your gun rights, hunting rights, trapping rights....all out the window.

I don't think it's true. Those two would love to get rid of the fur market, but they won't because of what it would do to the animal population. They can have all the ideas they want, but they still have to answer to advisors. The Dept. of the Interior would not allow this because it would destroy entire ecosystems by throwing the numbers out of balance. Won't happen, but I will still vote Republican. Distemper, mange, and rabies would be a little more than just isolated insidents.

Let me see your war face!!!

if they really did try to get rid of the fur market the US would be loosing a lot of money the fur market is a multi million dollar market, not only would we the hunters and trappers get a kick in the gut so would the fashion industry i would hope they wouldnt be that dumb to do that but with them who knows
cant never could

Hunting and trapping is a multi-billion dollar a year industry, and if anyone thinks any politician, regardless of party, be it republican or democrat is going to take all that revenue away, than you need to wake up because you are dreaming.

You are right. You know what you spend on your hunting supplies and then you know what you spend on your hounds.

Personally I think the cat hides went so high this year because of the weather.. I didn't go to the sale, but heard there weren't half the cat there this year that there normally are.. Just what I think...

The fur buyer here said the high prices were weather related. with the big snows in Nevada and Utah the total harvest of western cats was less then half of average. And that the fur houses had a standing order for cats. This let the fur buyers buy the bobcats for a higher price they knew they could sell them no gambling on there part. This seems to ring more true to me then all the rest of that BS. dgarrett

I find more common sence in those two comments then believing that its politically motivated.
