Colorado Fire- Pics

Post by FullCryHounds »

Been kind of crazy around here this week. Last Monday, we had a controlled burn get away from the Forest Service and ended up burning 27 homes, killed an elderly couple in their home and one women is still missing. The area this fire was in, is a property I hunt. It is extremely rugged, steep, rocky and remote. I was called in to help with the search for the missing women because I know the area and trails well.
So here is the scenario. The fire was huge, going up the mountain at an estimated speed of 50 miles an hour. It was really hot, the wind was out of control coming out of the southwest. The women, Ann, called her husband at 5:28 PM. He couldn’t answer right away but called back two minutes later, no answer. She left a message, excited, out of breath but hard to understand. A half hour earlier, a neighbor observed their house already on fire. The remains of the house have been searched and no body has been found. An area around the house has been searched, nothing.
So what happened to Ann? What happened in that 30 minutes between the neighbor witnessing the house on fire and the cell phone call 30 minutes later.
We believe she got out of the house and was trying to run away. Possibly going down into a rough canyon NE of there. Her car was still in the driveway. Not much other physical evidence to go on.
A psychic working on the case says she’s alive, stuck on a rock outcropping overlooking Waterton Canyon, in an unburned area. Now weather you believe in psychics or not, she did come up with something weird. She said there was something strange about the womens head, she was seeing something strange but could not come up with what it was, The husband broke down and explained, she was on Cemo, and had no hair, and usually wore a wig.

I believe she is in an area we can’t get to yet, still too dangerous to go in according to the fire dept. We won’t give up till we find her.

People really don't realize how fast a fire moves. When i was working for CDF (california dept. of forestry) I seen a few things similar to this. Are they using a helicopter to try and locate at all. Try and figure out where she would have headed on foot thinking of where she thought would be the safest spot for her. Good luck.
