Well the first two I got were a year and a half and had some experience. I lead each of them down a bobcat track and that was all it took for them. I don't know how cold of nose they have because I don't have much experience myself. But this year I took them with a friends hounds and they will take a colder track than his dogs. They seem to be very persistent and keep their noses to the ground on a cold track then pick up their heads and fly when it gets hotter. The pups are not a year old yet so I have not turned them out with the older dogs yet. They seem to be very intelligent, they have treed two raccoons on their own recently, I didn't get to watch though. They were loose at the house so I don't know the circumstances, just found them under the trees. The pups also started rigging deer, not by sight. I was really surprised at some of the tracks they were barking at (pretty old). Now I just need to find them the right track to bark at :) . Well I hope that this is a little helpful I am still a beginner in the game so that is the best I can answer.

:D Slim, Since I can't ever seem to catch you on the phone lately...Abe's 2 older dogs are Chico (Pilgrim III X Lady and Pancho (Razo X Melody). I think Pancho is the new new name that Abe gave the other dog. You remember Chico, I know.
