younge dog help
Antone have any tips or things they use to get a dog from walking next to you while ur out hunting instead of running with the rest of the pack, if we get in fresh sign she will take off and work it pretty good but has to be real fresh otherwise she just stays by my side till the other dogs strike the hogs, the pup is only 9 months old and i dont know if its just cause she is still younge so im not real worried about it now but i dont like dogs that walk behind me while i hunt and want her working out with the other dogs. Any help would be great thank you.

Give her time, keep her on hogs & hunting with older dogs. She's only 9 months old, if she's going to bays & hunting fresh sign then she will probably be just fine at 18 months and be striking her own!! Good luck!

Re: younge dog help
Thanks pigstickindude i figured im just being impatient just never had any of my pups do this before they always get pissed if i have em on lead and not letting them run with the older dogs and now ive got this pup and she is throwing me a lil curve ball, everything else she does is amazing for a pup her age except that so hopefully once she gets more comfortable staying out there she wont wanna be around me anymore. Thanks again
Re: younge dog help
You can train her alone and see how that go, then add pack members later when she is starting to get the hang of it. Pups need a lot of intention, and that is to start out with and u only, but u can just wait like they said and see how it goes. Best of luck

sounds like shes on the right track, like others said just drop her out for a while you walk her over enough sign shell start to figure it. make her more confident to. But if shes doing all that at her age shell get it.
