old dogs?
Re: old dogs?
You might add beef scrapes and raw egg, I also hear a little bread helps too.

How old?
A warm, dry, soft place to sleep, a few days rest to recover in between arduous hunts, feed one raw chicken foot daily for the benifits of the natural glucosamine, obtain an accurate diagnosis of the cause of the "soreness" ie; arthritis vs hip displasia vs an acute injury vs ??, accept her inevitable aging.........and titrate her hunting days accordingly.

Glucosamine tablets they are worth there weight in gold on older dogs. It takes a couple weeks for them to start working but well worth it. Give them year around. Andy

I gt a question to throw in. When getting an old dog that's nails are out a ways an alittle on the round size. Getting her back into good shape what are some things I need to consider more food, less food, long roading sessions vs short but frequent . Special foods that are ment for fat older dogs stuff like that.

Patience.
You couldn't go from walking for 30 minutes tops, to running a half-marathon in three weeks, so don't expect your dog to accomplish such a feat either. They are like us.......tendons, ligaments and muscle take time to become *conditioned*. It's a process. How would you begin training? Treat your out-of-shape pot licker the same way.
Feed the best food that you can afford.
Trim the toenails, or have some one in the know to do it for you. Keep a close eye on the foot pads, as in a daily inspection, they too take time to condition.
