How does everyone get around in the woods?
I'm wondering how everyone gets around in the woods. By foot or vehicle or horse. I use to drive most the time it go to exspensive to keep doin it so I started just walk hunting and to me it is better cuz I learn more from the dogs following them. The only thing that sucks is getting tired but that not a big deal. So just four joys what you all perfer

hound hunting isnt a sport, its a way of life

Depends on the type of hunting.
Coyote Hunting, we try to keep a truck to each side of the section we are hunting, or atleast the sides more apt for the coyote to bring our dogs across. Only walking we do is walking in on a track to jump the coyote.
Coon hunting, I just walk. Love listening to the hounds running a coon in the dark. Also, yes you can learn a lot more by being in there with the dogs.
Bobcat, Drive or walk, whatever keeps us close to the chase.
Known others to use horse back though. Especially bird hunters.

In the course of 45 years of following potlickers. I have about used everything. Foot, Jeep, Horse, Mule, Dirt bikes or four wheelers. My favorite is either foot or mule. Try getting to a tree in a river bottom at night on a dirt bike! LOL It has been quite a ride.
In the early seventies I had a Jeep, Jacked up with Gumbo Mudders and Warn winch, Dog box and put 48000 miles on it in the Trinity river bottoms of east Texas coon hunting. Jeep never touched pavement.
Had the muffler in the air and crossed many a slew 6 foot deep with water running over the hood, Had a hog float out the back one time and had to go back and get him! LOL Them were the good old days when you could hunt in Texas and not have to worry about getting your dogs shot.
