Where in utah are you that may help. There's always the option of searching for people to. It may not work but its better then nothing. One thing though. If you hunt your dog in a good area three or four nights a week and have it taught its obedience and no fighting it sure helps when it comes time to get that invitation to bring your hound hunting good luck

Hello young duke--- since your dog is 6 months old the best advise I could give is get the books Walk with Wick--- read them while that hound is maturing.. they give a lot of very good advise on training
the Wick books are worth the money they cost--- I cannot say as much for a couple of the other training books---- believe me I have bought them all

having 52 years of hunting hounds I find that I still learn a little every time I read them again.

most hounds --despite what the ads in the magazines say-- are not ready until they are around 9 months old to take much hunting.. teach him to heel---get him to load (he might not be quite ready for that even) put a handle on him to where he comes when you call...
those simple steps will make it a lot less stressful when he gets to hunting.
