Up ur expectations
Up ur expectations
Wow! Just read from a different site , a guy lookin for a dog with certain traits n 1 was " at least 60% accurate on tree" (coon). That's rediculous! I don't coon hunt any more n that's 1 of the reasons there is so much junk out there that's bein hunted n bred. If I had a hound that was slick a handful of times over the course of a year that was to much. I don't like a liar or excuses . How would that work for bear n cat huntin, not well. I see the same type of thing goin on in biggame huntin to. Guys who settle for less than they should. They say " well we didn't catch him today but we had fun" or make excuses for why there hounds didn't get it done. When I go huntin I expect to catch what I'm after , that's fun. I'm not sayin I catch every time but the % better be up there if a hound plans on a spot in my kennel or be in a breeding program. I guess by havin lesser expectations from some means there's more game for the ones with higher demand to catch. I don't know maybe that's another way to keep animals off the endangered species list. I guess what I'm gettin at is there is so much crap out there today cuz people let there be. If ur not catchin game don't make excuses n piss n moan bout it or blame it on something else. Look at the end of ur leash , that's ur excuse. N don't breed the non catchers either cuz u like there voice or looks. There's a lot of guys that never seen hounds cold trail day or 2 old tracks , run that fast , take a beatin n go back for more, never quit ect. ect. ect. So u young guys or guys just gettin in the game, there's good hounds out there, u just got to find them. Don't settle.

Biggest problem for shit dogs, is shit hunters. Guys who hunt only 1 month or only 5 times a year are the guys who you describe. Easy to pick those guys out after being in the game awhile. You find a guy who hunts every day of the season he can, you will find good dogs. Blood isn't as important as a guy who hunts his dogs and breeds in according to how the dogs do. Just my opinion.
Big time breeders don't always hunt the dogs themselves or don't hunt much and breed by names or bloods, I think you will find a loose breeding program with those guys. I don't know this by experience but seems like a logical conclusion.
