Re: kennel?
I have used off-ground heat-pens for years, it seems to disperse the scent so that I don't have three weeks of whining and barking. I recently built a whelping pen for a friend and we elevated the box. The box is 36" wide X 48"long by 24" tall. Inside the box is a 2"X2" baseboard in the bottom for puppy protection. The top is fully hinged for easy access for cleaning and viewing. There is an 18" landing the full width of the box on the front for momma to enter and exit by. Elevation is determined by cinder blocks placed beneath, but legs could be put on.
