growly pup

Any body seen a pup that is growly around its food with other dogs and me. Ive seen it with older dogs but not a pup.Pup is only like three months old. he also acts like he starving to death all the time. Just kinda curious if anyone has seen this at all.

feed him more often a little at a time and make him eat it out of your lap and hold the dish and dont let him get any unless he calms down and excepts you own him and his food

ive seen it three times ,and heard about it once from my buddy in a pup that young this shouldnt be confused with pups squabbling a little .they are usually the ones that turn out to be pricks in my opinion and would even lash out over non food items. i would grab it by the scruff and give it a proper shaking while in the act. if it quits the behavior it may turn out alright . when they are like that at an early age red flags go off for me especially when its towards the hand that feeds it.lots of hounds dont like feeding together ,but you have to be a pack leader mights well let the pup know what is acceptable behavior right from the get go ,because that agression will intensify the bigger it gets ,so will the damage it will cause.out of the three ive had like that only one improved to become a good dog after i got after it . the other two became a liability that was unacceptable ,and my buddies dog went on to claim many human legs ,hands other dogs only to get passed on to do the same until that person finally ended it.some may not agree about getting after a pup that young ,but ive seen what happens when people are to soft for the wrong reasons. goodluck.

I had a hound try and get growly with me one time, he quite that BS after I knocked the shit of him. I dont train with a heavy hand very often at all, but when it come to something like that I think your point needs to be very clear right away.

When I say "Knock the shit out of" I certainly dont mean sit there and beat the dog. What I do when I want to kick the mean stuff is grab him by the neck and put him on the ground hard and fast in a submission hold for a bit, while you look righ in his eyes and tell him NO!.

Hey Brian, I would probably take a close look at the pups line. See if aggressive behavior is a common trait, it might give you a better idea what your up against. jmo. John.

Ya i think its a worm problem cuz he acts likes he starving im just gonna do what tim said eaier. its out of his dogs.im not to worried about it i was just curious if someone seen it in a pup that young
