Up in Maine the bigger bears 300 lb + much prefer to Bay up .
Those 125 lb Swamp runners will keep you busy all day . Prefer NOT to put out on them .
I do have to agree with 1whitedog ,We have some thick stuff up here but I have been on 2 hunts in Eastern Nc.where 5-10 yards is a good distance for line of sight . It certainly makes it a young mans chase . The older I get I much prefer a bigger ESCAPE ROUTE .I've been Bowled over twice by bear once in Maine ,once in N.C. Nothing like getting hit by a 400 lb linebacker when you get Blindsided !!!
