Go pkc you can register any hound right at the hunt. Ukc depending on the breed you could single register the dog.

Re: QUESTION, Please read!!!
In the old days, there used to be plenty of events for unregistered or "grade" hounds. These days, there are very few.
The National Redbone Coonhound Association will single register a dog that looks like a redbone and can prove it can tree a coon, but you may need to show its parentage. If you want to register that cute pup of yours, wait until it can tree a coon and then try. Its a complicated process. If you need help along the way or they give you a hard time, feel free to ask for help and I'll do what I can.
Single registration is usually open only a couple of months a year, starting in the spring, and some years it is not open at all.
for details, contact Larry Brough, single registration chairman, 13343 W. Kolb Road, Oak Harbor, OH 43449; PHONE: 419 898 8902

I'm very interested in this single reg. I have a four year old redbone male I bought awhile back but never got papers or contact info for parents. He will tree coon or cats.

Re: QUESTION, Please read!!!
The subject of single registration is controversial. If you have a dog that looks like a redbone and will tree coon, and want to register it, call Larry and ask for details soon. This opportunity could go away. They will probably want a picture from several angles and probably want a master of hounds in your area to watch it tree a coon. However, specific procedures vary by breed. If you've got a dog that looks like it should be register-able and the rules are causing unreasonable hurdles, the rules can be changed. pm me or call and we can bring it up at an association meeting.
